Dear Parents,
This term, students will be reading Sherlock Holmes' cases and "The Witches" by Roald Dahl, working with ratios and statistics, and learning about chemistry.
It is very important for students to organize their time during the week to complete homework autonomously and work in class diligently, so they can begin to prepare for 5th grade’s workload.
In English, students will focus on cause-and-effects factors that affect the evolution of the characters in the stories. We will be reading “The Witches” and “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes” simultaneously”, but with a consistent structure. At the end of the term, students will perform a radio play based on the readings and upload it to their webpage.
In Math, students will be working with proportions and ratios, statistics, and concepts related to algebra. Each student will create a webpage and organize information related to the term under their Math section.
In Science, students will be learning about chemistry. They will become experts on the Periodic Table and write an article related to the organization of the elements on the Periodic Table. This article will be uploaded to their webpage under the tab; Science.
We will be focused on helping students become even more autonomous and preparing students with the skills necessary for fifth grade. It is important that you help us at home and frequently ask your son:
This term is full of activities each month. Some weeks will be shorter than others, but we will need your son to be committed to his academics and promote a positive learning environment in all his classes. This will help all the teachers cover the necessary topics for this term.
Thank you!
Laura, Luisa, and Angie
